Jane is the Special Coordinator on improving the United Nations response to sexual exploitation and abuse and serves concurrently as the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on the relocation of Camp Hurriya residents outside of Iraq. Prior to re-joining the UN, Ms. Lute served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Internet Security (CIS) and from 2009 – 2013, she served as Deputy Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security. Ms. Lute served as Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping responsible for comprehensive on-the-ground support to all UN peace operations worldwide and also served as Assistant Secretary-General for Peacebuilding.
