The Power Shift Forum was held annually in 2013, 2014, and 2015 at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.  The main meetings took place at the Said Business School, but special events included an opening reception at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford-style debates at the Oxford Union, as well as dinners at colleges like Balliol and Somerville.  The Oxford location brings participants into the inspiring setting of an old, respected university, but also allows them to retreat from the distractions of home offices and major cities so that they can concentrate on regeneration and renewal.

In 2016, the Power Shift team partnered with Melanne Verveer, former United States Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, and Georgetown University to hold the first US Power Shift. The main event was held at the McDonough School of Business, with special events such as an opening reception at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Washington D.C., an Oxford Union-style debate at Gaston Hall, and dinner at the Library of Congress.   The Washington D.C. location allowed greater engagement with key institutions located in the U.S. capitol, such as the World Bank and USAID.
